fight for the earth,
do right for the earth,
it’s your home–write a poem–
teach the children with your heart and words–
not to do so would be absurd–
gather up your energy,
turn it into poetry,
lightning bolts of nouns and verbs,
aimed at the cities and suburbs.
fight to change the atmosphere
from cloudy to one that’s clear–
fight to bring a better day
with poetry, that’s what i say.
