As the setting of the sun
reveals
at nightfall
the beauty
of the stars
So the fading chlorophyll
reveals
in autumn
the leaves’ bright
yellows, reds, and oranges.
As the autumn
is
to the year
So the sunset
is
to the day.
And the winter
is the year’s
starry night.
